Instructions for driving a forklift safely
The process of driving a forklift is not too difficult, however the driver needs to take the correct steps to ensure safety and limit technical problems occurring to the vehicle.

1. Preparation process
Check and adjust seating position: use the adjustment lever to separate the seat slider, adjust the front and back of the seat to best fit. After adjusting the seat, release the adjustment lever back to the locked position to lock the seat tightly. Fasten your seat belt before starting the car.

2. Forklift driving instructions: start the vehicle
Forklifts include many different types: including gasoline engine forklifts, gas engine forklifts, diesel engine forklifts. For each type of engine, the starting process will be different.

For gasoline forklifts:

– Step 1: pull the handbrake.

– Step 2: In case the forklift has a lifting lever, move the lifting lever to the neutral position.

– Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition, turn the key to the “ST” position, then the engine will start. After the engine is started, the child key returns to the "ON" position after you release the key.

For gas engine forklifts:

– Step 1 + 2: similar to gasoline engine forklifts.

– Step 3: Insert the key into the ignition, step down on the accelerator gently, turn the key to the “ST” position. At this point the engine will be started. After starting, the key will return to the “ON” position after you release the key.

For diesel engine forklifts:
– Step 1 +2: similar to the two types of vehicles mentioned above.

– Step 3: Insert the key into the lock. Turn the key to the “ON” position.

3. Instructions for driving a forklift: after starting the vehicle
After the engine has been started, check and perform the following operations:

– Cool the engine until the water temperature gauge reads 50 degrees Celsius.

– Check: all gauges, check if the engine is making unusual noises, check if the color of the exhaust smoke is unusual?

– Operate the lift and tilt control levers and ensure they operate normally.

4. Instructions for driving a forklift: driving process

During the use of forklifts, it is necessary to ensure that the surrounding area is safe. Do the following:
– Raise the fork 15 - 20cm above the ground, tilt the lifting column completely backwards.

– During the process of pressing the downshift/brake pedal, pull the gear lever forward or backward, then release the handbrake and release the downshift/brake pedal while gradually depressing the accelerator pedal.

– Adjust the vehicle's speed by pressing the accelerator or pressing the forward and reverse control.

– Switch the lever forward and backward when the forklift has stopped completely to ensure the safety of equipment and goods.

Note when driving a forklift: do not operate the fork while pressing the accelerator pedal.

5. Forklift driving instructions: stop and park
– When stopping the forklift, release your foot from the accelerator pedal/forward and reverse control pedal and slowly slow down using the brake.

– When parking, lower the fork to the floor and tilt the lift column forward, pull the handbrake and return the lift lever to the neutral position.

– When leaving the forklift, turn the key to "OFF", remove the key.

– If the key is in the “ON” position, the engine will turn off after about 3 minutes (there will be a warning sound).
